Remembrance Day Poppy Display

An Invitation from Julia Dickinson:

I have been asked by Rushmoor Borough Council to coordinate making poppies for a display at the Princes Hall around Remembrance Day. Would any of your congregation be able to help by making poppies for this?

We are looking to make about 1000 poppies, knitted, crocheted, fabric or felt. I've attached a file with links to free online patterns on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1189422335795439.

Anyone would be welcome to join us on a Tuesday morning (9:30-12:30) at Aldershot Methodist Church. We will also be arranging other venues/times over the next couple of months - maybe this is something your church could help with? Any donations of red/black yarn, fabric, felt or sewing threads would also be very welcome, as would black buttons, knitting needles or crochet hooks - I'd be happy to collect.

The same page has details about Gift Aid. If you're a UK tax payer, Gift Aid can increase your donation by 25%, courtesy of HM Revenue and Customs. If you've never registered for Gift Aid, why not take the opportunity to do it now!
